Walt Ellengerber

Walt is one of the original riders, organizers, and current Board member for Ride Allegheny. Following his move from the DC metro area in 2011, he organized a paddleboard event called Paddle Second Chance, which raised over $360,000 for the local Delmar veteran community and evolved into a non-profit organization in January 2020. He is the founder and current president of Warrior Community Connect, a 501 c3 organization supporting wounded veteran families in the Delmar Region, and a benefactor of funds raised by RA for wounded veteran fly fishing therapy.   

Walt retired from SAP Regulated Industries after 13 years of managing their healthcare business and strategic partner development. In semi-retirement, he is consulting in the emerging Precision Medicine market, capitalizing on over 40 years of Health Science technology. He has his master’s degree in Health Services Administration and started his career as an Administrator at George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

Walt resides in Millsboro, Delaware, on the Peninsula of Indian River Bay with his lovely wife Val, enjoying their growing family of grandchildren.
